Tanya Tagaq is a Polaris Prize and Juno-winning Inuk singer from Nunavut. Her music mixes traditional Inuit throat singing with modern pop and alternative sounds. Her debut book, Split Tooth, is a mix of memoir and fiction about a young girl growing up in Nunavut with the wonders of the natural world juxtaposed with the issues her community is facing.
Split Tooth was on the longlist for the 2018 Scotiabank Giller Prize.
