Gail Bowen is a writer of mystery novels. Since publishing her first book Deadly Appearances 27 years ago, Bowen has regaled readers with the exploits of Joanne Kilbourn, a university professor, occasional political writer, family matriarch and amateur sleuth. In 2018, Bowen received the Crime Writers of Canada Grand Master award for her "long and illustrious" career as a crime fiction author. Her most recent mystery is The Winners' Circle. She is also the author of a book of advice for writing mysteries called Sleuth.
