We look back at the singer's most memorable appearances at the award show over the years
On March 30, musician Michael Bublé will host the 2025 Juno Awards in Vancouver. Bublé is a veteran when it comes to entertaining fans at the award show, having performed, accepted awards and occasionally channelled his inner comedian for viewers across Canada multiple times.
"I could not be happier bringing the Juno Awards home to Vancouver for 2025," he said in a press release. "The Junos are such an important part of the Canadian music industry, and being able to host for the second time in my hometown makes this night mean even more to me."
"I'm excited to be surrounded by all the amazing talent we have from coast-to-coast this March," he added.
Ahead of his hosting duties this year, let's take a look back at some of Bublé's best Juno moments.
2004: Bublé's first win
While the category was not handed out during the broadcast, Bublé won his very first Juno Award in 2004 for new artist of the year. (He later did hit the stage during the broadcast to perform "Kissing a Fool" though.) He has since gone on to win 12 Juno Awards, sweeping the 2006 Junos with four wins and scoring another four in 2010.
2007: Getting interviewed by Nelly Furtado's 'aunt'
Pop star Nelly Furtado hosted the 2007 Juno Awards and, at one point, dressed up as her "aunt Tia Maria." In the comedic segment, Tia interviewed — or more accurately, interrogated — Bublé. She accused Bublé of being jealous of Furtado and gave him a beating when he admitted that he only wanted to work with Furtado because she's hot. But, things eventually took a turn before the footage was quickly cut off by an embarrassed Furtado.
2009: Bublé and Russell Peters make back-to-back Junos appearances
Comedian Russell Peters and Bublé both made repeat appearances at the 2008 and 2009 Juno Awards, where the former hosted and the latter performed. During a funny sketch at the 2009 Juno Awards, Peters and Bublé got into a little tiff, battling for screen time on the broadcast. "We don't have time to fit you in," Peters told Bublé backstage. The singer promptly responded: "Well maybe if your monologue wasn't so long, Russell, where you didn't waste the time with the dance number and you didn't harass the celebrities ... maybe there would be a little time for Bublé, man."
2013: Bublé's turn to host
Bublé got all the airtime he wanted four years later when he was tapped to host the big show. In the opening of the 2013 Juno Awards, Bublé flexed his comedic skills in a segment where he tried to enlist hosting advice from Peters and a number of guests including Kelly Ripa and Dr. Phil.
2013: Bublé ends the show on a high note
Overall, Bublé did a great job hosting the Junos, balancing humour with a sincere love of Canadian music. To cap off the night, Bublé went into the crowd and encouraged a stadium-wide sing-along of his hit "Home." It was slow to start, but once he got around to the chorus a second and third time, the joyful sounds of the audience singing along made for a heartwarming end to the show.
2018: Bublé returns as host, performs with Diana Krall
Bublé took on hosting duties again in 2018, marking a return to performing after a two-year hiatus during which his eldest son was diagnosed with cancer. He brought humour and charm to the stage, especially while delivering his opening monologue, but it was his sweeping performance with Diana Krall that was a standout moment. He introduced the "incomparable" Krall by joking that she "lived just up the block in Nanaimo" from him, before joining her in singing an upbeat rendition of "L-O-V-E."
