Service returned to normal by noon, cause of the outage remains unclear
Calgary Transit's C-Train service in the downtown core was restored around noon Thursday after a power outage rained on Calgarians' morning commute.
The power issue prevented C-Trains from running through the downtown core. Shuttle buses were offered at certain stations to help get transit riders to their final destinations.
As of noon, Calgary Transit said the trains were running normally and every 10 minutes.
Enmax said the outage was due to a faulty LRT train, but Calgary Transit said it hasn't determined the cause.
According to an Enmax spokesperson, a large section of the LRT was re-energized at 8:15 a.m, which partially restored service. However, commuters were still unable to get all the way into the core until service was fully restored around noon.
