BuzzFeed senior writer and author Scaachi Koul will be writing and executive producing a half-hour comedy series based on her autobiographical book of essays, One Day We'll All Be Dead And None of This Will Matter.
First Generation Films, which acquired the rights to the book, said in a press release, "Scaachi's singular voice is at once fearlessly bold yet incredibly vulnerable and she's exactly the kind of artist whose stories we want to be telling."
In One Day We'll All Be Dead And None of This Will Matter, Koul writes about her upbringing as the daughter of Indian immigrants in Canada. Armed with a sharp wit, Koul's essays explore the pervasiveness of casual racism and sexism in the country.
This will be Koul's first foray into television writing.
"I'm very excited to work with First Gen on bringing my book — and more pressingly, my father — to television," said Koul in a press release.
Christina Piovesan and Mackenzie Lush of First Generation Films have also signed on to the project as executive producers.
