Calgary police were called to 12th Avenue and Centre Street early Thursday morning
Calgary police are investigating after a man was found dead inside a bullet-riddled vehicle in Crescent Heights early Thursday morning.
Police were called to the intersection of 12th Avenue and Centre Street north at 4:20 a.m., where a man was reported to be in medical distress.
Officers found a man dead inside a vehicle in the middle of the intersection.
A firearm was also found at the scene.
It's not yet known whether the incident was a targeted attack, said Staff Sgt. Asif Rashid.
"Suffice it to say that there's nothing to indicate that this was a random incident," he said.
A one-block radius surrounding the intersection was closed for several hours as homicide detectives and the medical examiner investigated.
Police later cordoned off a house in the 200 block of 10th Avenue N.E. and are treating it as a potential crime scene.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday.
Anyone with information is asked to call police or contact Crime Stoppers.
