Young man in hospital after stabbing on Granville Street

Witness chased down the alleged attacker, but they escaped in a taxi

A young man is recovering in hospital after a stabbing on Granville Street early Saturday morning.
The attack happened around 2 a.m. PT at the intersection of Nelson and Granville Streets.
Dixon Scott was with a group of friends when he witnessed the incident. He says he tried to chase down the assailant.
"He looked like he was going to walk past us, and then pulled out an X-Acto knife," he said.

"The guy immediately took off off running down Nelson towards Granville and hopped into a waiting cab … I chased him down trying to stop him."
Scott says the victim suffered a cut to his neck and was rushed to hospital in an ambulance shortly after. He added that the attack may have been provoked by an earlier altercation between the two.
Vancouver Police are reviewing security footage and canvassing witnesses in the area to try and find the alleged attacker.
