Campground on Ghost Lake closed, warning issued for nearby campgrounds
A backcountry campground in Banff National Park is closed after a bear damaged a tent.
The campground on Ghost Lake, known as LM 31, is closed Parks Canada officials announced Friday.
Violators could be charged under the Canada National Parks Act and fined up to $25,000.
There is also a bear warning for nearby campgrounds LM 20 and LM 22. Both campsites are on Lake Minnewanka.
