Hundreds of Island students from 11 schools embarked on a special field trip Tuesday to learn about fields, farms and forests.

"Today we are welcoming over 650 grades one through three students, so they're here they're learning in stations about different areas of agriculture and forestry," said Rayanne Frizzell with the P.E.I. Agriculture Awareness Committee.
The outing was a chance to learn about farm animals, wildlife, trees and crops.
Students got a close-up look at plants in a greenhouse, bugs and a variety of taxidermied wildlife.
