Kalin Mitchell, our CBC meteorologist, says southern parts of the province have seen a mix of ice pellets, freezing rain and even rain, and "those locations will actually be turning back over to a period of snow" into Tuesday evening.
Mitchell says skies will gradually clear on Wednesday, except for continuing flurries in southeast N.B., and the cold, northerly winds will stay strong.

Power outages

NB Power continues to report a number of outages around the province.

The number of homes and businesses without power has grown to over 10,000 by 6:30 p.m., with power out to almost 8,000 customers. St. Stephen was the next hardest hit with over 2,200 outages.
Meghan Gerrish, spokesperson for NB Power said due to the nature of the storm, which will get worse before it gets better overnight, some customers may not have power restored until tomorrow.
"Estimated restoration times will be added to the website as crews are able to investigate damages and estimate the amount of time it will take to make repairs," she said.
Most of the outages on Tuesday have been caused by trees hitting the power lines.
Roads and highways(external link) around the province are reporting everything from slush and icy patches to snow covered.
