The Supreme Court of Nova Scotia has released the video evidence that was prepared for the murder trial of Blake Leggette and Victoria Henneberry.
The pair pleaded guilty earlier this month to murdering Loretta Saunders, a 26-year-old Inuk woman from Labrador who was studying at Saint Mary's University in Halifax at the time of her death.
Leggette, who pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, received an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years. Henneberry, who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, was also sentenced to life in prison and must serve at least 10 years before she can apply for parole.
The video evidence prepared in Saunders's case has not been shown since last summer, during the preliminary inquiry for Leggette and Henneberry. Since the guilty pleas were entered before any evidence was introduced, it was not used at a trial.

Two weeks before the murder, Leggette and Henneberry fought with one another. Leggette chased Henneberry around the apartment with his smartphone, and recorded a conversation in which they discussed killing Saunders.
At one point, Leggette follows Henneberry into the bathroom with his phone. The audio portion of that cellphone footage is included in the above video.
