Snowfall warning in effect for Montreal, southern Quebec

Up to 30 cm of snow expected to fall

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the greater Montreal region.
The warning is called for:
  • Châteauguay (La Prairie area)
  • Laval area
  • Longueuil (Varennes area)
  • Montréal Island area
Between 20 and 30 centimetres of snow is expected to fall over the course of the day, with winds gusting up to 70 kilometres per hour through Thursday evening.
Later on, the snow may turn to ice pellets.
Blowing snow may reduce road visibility.
