The call came in at 3:18 p.m. Monday for an address at 360 Morningside Ave., which is located on the east side of Morningside Park.
Toronto Fire Services say all four people are conscious and breathing.
Witness Andrew Bryan told CBC News that the people had been sitting under a tree when they were hit.
Minutes later, lightning struck for a second time, hitting both a tree and an ambulance.
The city had been under a severe thunderstorm warning on Monday afternoon.
Earlier this year, a group of four men were hit by lighting on a golf course north of the city in Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ont.
