Abbotsford police are investigating the fatal stabbing yesterday afternoon of a high-level gang member at the city's auto mall.
On Friday morning homicide investigators confirmed the victim was Matthew Campbell, a reported associate of the Red Scorpions gang.
Campbell stumbled into a business on the 30100 block of Automall Drive with a severe neck wound around 3:45 p.m. PT Thursday. Staff tried to help him and he was rushed by air ambulance to hospital, but he died of his wounds.

"Campbell was known to police for his history relating to gang activity and indications at this point in the investigation suggest this was not a random incident," said the statement issued by Sgt. Adam MacIntosh.
"We remain in the early stages and are working to find out what occurred and the person or persons responsible for this crime," said MacIntosh.
The death is Abbotsford's first murder of 2014, but for several years the city was known as Canada's murder capital because of a spate of targeted killings linked to a gang war between the Red Scorpions gang and the UN gang.
