Since October, 15 compost bins have been set up across the city, and Winnipeg residents are eager to contribute. Karrie Blackburn from Compost Winnipeg shares how the program is taking off and its positive reception, in conversation with CBC’s Susan Magas


The clock is ticking on Winnipeg's Community Connections centre, located inside the Millennium Library. Without funding in next year's city budget, the centre will close its doors on December 31st, leaving many in need without support. While city officials, like Finance Committee Chairman Jeff Browaty, cite safety concerns, advocates such as Al Wiebe, a long-time supporter of unhoused and low-income Winnipeggers, are speaking out against the closure. Wiebe joins us to talk about the impact this decision will have on the most vulnerable members of the community
