Cooking with Joy: Raw Nutty Seed Burger

Is there anything better than a meal that gets more delicious the longer it sits in the fridge? We think not — and these yummy meatless burgers prove it. Packed with omega 3-heavy walnuts and protein-rich seeds, these no-bake burgers is utterly bursting with nutrients, and won’t leave you feeling bogged down after you eat. Make them ahead for a week of easy dinners that will help fuel you and your kiddos through the back-to-school season!
Ingredients
- 1 cup walnuts
- ½ cup ground flaxseeds
- ¼ cup hemp hearts
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Sea salt (to taste)
Preparation
Add all ingredients to food processor and blend until smooth and mixture easily forms a ball. Form into ¾ inch patties. For firmer burgers, chill overnight.
Serve cold with salad or on a bun with your favourite toppings.
Or, preheat oven to 300F degrees. Bake burgers to warm for 20-25 minutes and then assemble.
