How to sew your own perfectly full tiered skirt
Sewing Therapy’s Sara SJ Kim shares a step-by-step tutorial for creating this trending piece at home
Sara SJ Kim of Sewing Therapy's believes there are two key elements involved in designing the perfect tiered skirt: fullness and balanced proportions. So, she set out to create an original pattern that achieves both — and can be totally customized. Depending on the fabric and length you choose, it's a style that can be casual enough for summer days at the beach or formal enough for special occasions.
In this episode of her CBC Life series Sewing School, Sara demonstrates how to create a full, midi-length tiered skirt from scratch. She also shares her tried-and-tested technique for making perfect fabric gathers every time.
