That's one of the reasons why we were so delighted by these easy, picnic-extending DIYs from crafting queen withwendy. Using items you may already have at home — or can grab from the dollar store — she shows how far a few simple hacks can go to help you keep comfy and hydrated for hours. Check out the video below to learn how the DIYs come together, and cheers to easier, more enjoyable al fresco hangs!

Here's what you'll need:

For the mini insulated cooler:

  • Lidded plastic caddy, in size of your choice
  • Spray paint, in colour of your choice
  • Twine
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers or paint, to decorate in style of your choice
  • Insulated grocery bag

For the virgin mojito-inspired ice cubes:

  • Plastic ice cube tray
  • Handful of raspberries
  • Handful of mint leaves
  • ¼ cup cranberry juice
  • 2 tbsp simple syrup
  • 2 tbsp lime juice

For the tote that becomes a blanket:
