Wedding favours are a great way to show your guests that you appreciate their love and support — but most of the time they can seem like an afterthought. At the end of the night it's nice to send guests home with a little something special to help them remember your big day. The right token of gratitude that's made with care is guaranteed to be a hit, but we know that adding another task to your wedding to do list can be daunting. But fear not! The hosts of The Goods shared four meaningful mementos to help make your day a little more memorable.

Sweet treats

Sweet treats for the ride home are great favours and your guests will literally eat them up! We opted for s'mores, macarons and popcorn, but you could also make a personal fave, or bake up a few batches of grandma's special fudge. A favour as delicious as this is guaranteed to not sit around collecting dust and they're easy to DIY. If you're short on time, there are plenty of catering options as well for less-than-crafty couples, but otherwise, these gifts are budget-friendly and only cost a few dollars per favour.

Hangover helper

This is a great gift to show your guests that you care about them and that you've got their back. Friends and family will appreciate a few goodies to help recover from your epic celebration, plus it's fairly low cost. Here's what to pack in your little helper:

  • Water bottle to rehydrate
  • Sunglasses to hide tired eyes
  • Ibuprofin for headaches and pains
  • Bandages for those blistered feet after dancing all night
  • Saltine crackers

Perfume and cologne bar

This favour is a little more indulgent, but it's such a special way to help guests remember your big day. A perfume bar lets guests play with a wide range of scents to blend an aroma of their very own. Customize labels for your ceremony, and leave space for their fragrance names so your guests can truly personalize their scents. They'll remember your special day for years to come — after all, scent is a perfect to evoke memories.

The gift of water

Building charitable giving into wedding celebrations is very on-trend right right now. Some couples opt for charities honouring a loved one that couldn't be with them on their day or simply supporting a cause that's important to them.

Clean water initiatives are a fantastic initiative to support on your big day. Everyone needs water, but not everyone has equal access to it, causing huge problems for health and sanitation. Charities like Charity Water, Water Aid and Water.org partner with local organizations around the world to provide long lasting water and sanitization services to their local communities.

To turn this idea into a party favour, make a donation to the organization of your choice in the name of each guest. Let them know the charity details on a small tag or sticker attached to plain glass water bottle, and pop a charcoal stick inside. Charcoal water filters improve the flavour of the water, while keeping the "good stuff in your water," and removing chlorine, sediment, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), taste and odour. You can add a little embellishment or bow to your water to make it even more personal.
