10 of the most memorable looks from the Emmys red carpet
These stars shined in bold shapes, sculptural details and comfortable fits
The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, postponed from their usual September date due to the Hollywood strikes, celebrated achievements in television last night in Los Angeles.
On the red carpet, many attendees opted for standard black gowns, suits and tuxedos — but others made bold statements with confident, sometimes quirky, fashion choices that felt decidedly more personal.
Here are 10 standout looks from the Emmys 2024 red carpet.
Issa Rae
The Insecure star looked radiant in an embroidered tulle caftan with feathers from American eveningwear designer Pamella Roland's Spring 2024 collection. The caftan had a beautiful texture and was riveting in movement. Hairstylist Felicia Leatherwood added matching feathers to Rae's sleek updo for the evening.
Anthony Anderson
Actor and comedian Anthony Anderson, who hosted the Emmys last night, wore several different tuxedos over the course of the evening. Our favourite is from the red carpet — the beading on the floral, embroidered Etro jacket looks almost three-dimensional, and the loafers-without-socks detail made the look feel less stuffy.
Simona Tabasco
The Italian actress, nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work on The White Lotus, wore a colourful Marni dress and Cartier jewelry. The collage-look, 2D floral dress is a custom take on the Italian fashion label's Spring/Summer 2024 runway finale look.
Keri Russell
Lead Actress - Drama nominee Keri Russell, working with fashion stylist Frank Fleming, has been looking great on the red carpet lately. She wore a wonderful pale yellow Jil Sander look at the Golden Globes earlier this month and a black, strapless Alexandre Vauthier haute couture gown with a voluminous skirt last night.
Natasha Lyonne
Nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, the Poker Face star looked radiant at the Emmys in a metallic Schiaparelli gown and David Webb jewelry. Lyonne also wore custom Schiaparelli at the Golden Globes, and we hope to see more of this winning pairing on future red carpets.
Selena Gomez
Styled by her go-to fashion stylist Erin Walsh, Gomez wore a dramatic, sequined Oscar de la Renta gown which took 930 hours to hand embroider and is made with 450,000 paillettes. It's worn with René Caovilla shoes and jewelry from Tiffany & Co.
Claire Danes
From the front, Danes's vintage Balmain gown, from the house's Spring/Summer 1990 collection according to her fashion stylist Petra Flannery, is nice, if a little non-descript. But the colour is lovely, and the back and side views are much more interesting.
Beatrice Grannò
Actress Beatrice Grannò's Giorgio Armani strapless column gown features shimmery black fabric and three-dimensional, red flowers. It's an eye-catching and chic look that seems comfortable to wear, too.
Aubrey Plaza
Aubrey Plaza's yellow, backless Loewe dress from the Spanish fashion house's Spring/Summer 2024 runway collection has already inspired a few memes, but it's also an interesting, memorable choice amidst a sea of plain LBDs and forgettable gowns. She wears it with a gold clutch and platform shoes by Alexandre Birman.
Will Sharpe
The White Lotus star Will Sharpe showcases an elevated, (almost) all-black look featuring a double-breasted Burberry suit worn with matching nail polish, sunglasses, squared-toe shoes and a barely-there shirt that highlights his silver necklace.
