Rainy days are a part of life come springtime. But Karl Lagerfeld knows how to transform the mundane into the must-see (and buy). A waterfall-bedecked runway for the Spring 2018 Chanel show, complete with plastic ponchos, glassy drop earrings and crystal clear over-the-knee boots, launched the transparent trend that celebrates all things weatherproof.

At once retro and futuristic, see-through styles were also spotted at Isabel Marant, Burberry, Topshop, Calvin Klein and Fendi, cementing PVC as a major message for the season.  But it doesn't and shouldn't stop there. From your closet to you chairs and no matter the forecast, prep your spring style by tapping into the transparent trend.

If you can't imagine wearing something see-through, try kitting out your makeup bag instead. This luxe line of lipsticks combines creamy, matte-finish colours with chic crystal-clear cases.
