Back to beauty! September's lineup is led by a mic drop of a hair product and a long awaited concealer
Tis the season to update your arsenal of essentials
Fall is the best time to press reset when it comes to your wardrobe (hello, back-to-school tingles!), and it's just as exciting to dig into some new beauty items, ones that will hopefully become permanent favourites in your beauty bounty. With skincare treatments for nearly every type, concealer from makeup pro Charlotte Tilbury, a new version of the best selling Gucci Bloom, and an astonishing new breakthrough in hair care that promises to turn back the clock on grey hair, this month will be one to remember in the beauty space.
Here are 10 new launches that made our radar, that should certainly land on yours as well!
Metal head
Hungarian spa brand, Omorovicza, is known for their luxe skincare innovations, and their latest launch is right on time. Utilizing the benefits of colloidal silver (think, antibacterial properties that are tailor made for blemish prone skin!) and niacinamide (another word for vitamin B3, which is known to help brighten the complexion and even skintone), this treatment mask, which feels similar in texture to tiger balm with hints of menthol, is a weekly must if you're looking for a face mask to help decongest your pores. It also contains two important acids — salicylic and glycolic — to help exfoliate the surface of the skin, while brightening and toning. This mask, which is part of the Clean at Sephora cohort, does loads of heavy lifting in just 15 minutes.

Crystal clear
Infused with the healing energy of amethyst, this new serum from Odacité is literally made for all skin types. It combats dehydrated skin, helps fight the signs of aging, counter-balances anti-acne products by calming and soothing any redness, and helps to restore a healthy glow, thanks to the powers of watermelon seed oil, which contains vitamins A, B and E (gang's all here!), hibiscus flower (say hello to powerful antioxidants and mild exfoliating acids) and colloidal oatmeal (oh-so-soothing). Best of all? Once you're done with the juice, you can shake out the amethyst beads and make yourself a bracelet or hold them tight for their healing energy.
Grey matters
Unless you're like UK editor Sarah Harris, or the myriad of Instagram influencers who dyed their locks in the hopes of achieving her perfect shade of silver, you probably aren't a fan of those coarse, shiny white strands that pop out at varying degrees around your head. Dying them to your natural shade helps, but it's only a temporary fix. So what's a gal or guy to do? Enter Phyto's latest, beauty bending technology. After six years of extensive research, the French brand is launching RE 30, a hair serum that promises to help reverse the signs of greying. About two thirds of women are currently dying their hair, and RE 30 is taking aim to directly at that number, by targeting the melanocytes that create pigment in the hair. They found that hydrogen peroxide is attracted to melanin in the hair, and decreases the amount of pigment the follicle will product. So their new, patented formula directly targets hair from the roots, helping to re-pigment each strand thanks to a peptide called RE 30. And the clinicals are outstanding. After using RE 30 daily for three months, 77 per cent of participants said they had less grey hair — turning back time, indeed!

On the bright side
Like all good beauty geeks, we love our vitamin C brightening serums, correct? This new one from vegan and cruelty free Canadian brand Reversa should be next up in your brightening line up. Using a water-free formula to help prevent oxidation of the volatile vitamin C molecule, Radiance C Concentrate is housed in an airless pump to help further prevent degradation of the serum, and it contains 20 per cent ascorbic acid (aka vit C), as well as vitamin E (a great antioxidant that keeps the complexion hydrated), shea butter (doubling up on that hydration factor) and hyaluronic acid (wait, sorry, tripling up on moisture!). This well-rounded beauty wonder will aid in protecting the skin from environmental damage, will help quell the appearance of dark spots, and will reduce the look of crow's feet and the like while it helps to plump up the complexion from the inside out.

Face first
Now that we've established that acid peels can be a very good thing, let's get to the latest one destined to hit your bathroom — Dermalogica just launched an at-home, professional peel system to promises to take your skin from good to great. Coming in ten perfectly portioned size tubes (also great for travel!), you can jump start your complexion's renewal process by using the treatment (there's just enough for your face and neck and you leave it on for three- to seven-minutes depending on how your skin is reacting), at night for three days. After you've achieved your optimal results, a once a week schedule is best. And what to expect? Rapid Reveal Peel promises to help sloth off debris while it enhances cellular turnover, revealing brighter skin, diminishing the appearance of dark spots and fine lines.

Upgrade ya
If you fell hard for Alessandro Michele's first Gucci Bloom scent like we did, you'll be equally enamoured with his latest iteration of the smash hit fragrance. Nettare di Flore, which just launched on August 31, 2018, is a deep, more soulful version of Bloom, with a blend of ginger and rose in the top notes, and a finish of patchouli, musks and osmanthus, making this the show-stopping cousin you never knew you needed, but then won't be able to live without.

A gentler alternative
Pesky, deep blackheads sometimes need some serious work to banish, but you don't want to get too harsh with your mode of treatment, especially if you have sensitive skin. Enter Clinique's latest. Made for all skin types, this spot treatment, which heats up with the addition of water, works to reduce the look of blackheads. Simply squeezing some cream onto your finger and apply where you need it most, like the nose, middle of the forehead or chin. Then wet the green scrub brush on the end of the tube, and use it to massage the product into your skin for about 30 seconds. Use two to three times per week, and voila! Blackheads be gone.

Along with the recent brand refresh that Shiseido went through, of course comes some new products, and just in time for fall is the Extra Rich Cleansing Milk. Shiseido's scientists zeroed in on the skin's Langerhan cells, which can become over-stressed thanks to environmental conditions, so balancing these cells is key. With that in mind the brand created new calming formulas to help maintain Langerhan cells and their health. This foaming cleanser keeps skin nourished, while it whisks away dirt and debris — and it contains soothing ingredients like rich germ oil and silk extract. So, if you're looking to kick up your cleansing routine, this is certainly a good option.

Baby, it's magic
When Charlotte Tilbury throws around the word magic, you know it's not just fluff! The Hollywood makeup artist has just launched a new concealer that has all the beauty editors talking. Magic Away Liquid Concealer, which comes in 16 shades from fair to dark, is the product of years of hard work for Tilbury and her team, trying to nail that perfect concealer. Made with Persian silk tree bark extract, which gives the formula a bit of a tacky feeling to help it stretch over lines and blemishes, and wild indigo extract to help brighten, this wand-erful concealer promises 15-hour, full coverage wear, and is water resistant.
