How to teach your dog: "Don't jump" — for the excitable canine in your life!

Welcome to CBC Life's pet training classes. This series of short videos will teach you how to get your pup to obey simple commands that can be used in a wide variety of situations.

This week Danielle teaches Summer how not to jump on her - the perfect tool for the overly-excitable pup in your life. This tip is great if your dog likes to jump upon meeting new people which can be problematic, especially if the human isn't comfortable around dogs.

Like all of these pet training tips, consistency is key. Make sure you continually teach this to your dog daily, and ensure you reward them for good behaviour and not bad behaviors (like jumping!).
