5 unlikely animal friendships
You and your BFF having drama? Well, these unlikely animal friends have overcome interspecies boundaries, so take some inspiration from our roundup. And maybe send the link as a peace offering to your partner in crime.
Moose and Juniper the Fox
What does the fox say? Probably 'ruff' in this case. Meet Moose the dog and Juniper the Fox.
Juniper is considered a "tame fox" which basically means he was bred to be cool, calm and collected so that when farmers wanted to skin him for his coat, he wouldn't fight back. Now that animal skins as fashion is pretty taboo, these tame foxes need a home.
Now Juniper poses with his bff Moose on Instagram and has generated a healthy following of almost 968,000 followers.
Duck, duck, goose
This clip recently went viral, and for good reason. It's a dog chasing a duck, people! Or is it a duck chasing a dog? Whichever way you look at it, it's cute, and oddly hypnotizing.
Toffee, Oreo and Pumpkin the Raccoon
Now we might not file this one under 'cute' because raccoons aren't inherently cute, but it still deserves to be recognized.
Pumpkin fell out of a tree, and was nursed back to health by Laura Young and Rosie Kemp who decided to make Pumpkin a permanent part of their home in the Bahamas. Pumpkin has integrated himself nicely into a family with two Royal Bahamian Potcake dogs named Toffee and Oreo.
Pumpkin's popularity has exploded on Instagram who currently sits at 961,000 and he even has a book. Yes, a book. The internet wins again.
The BLT
File this under "What the?" - meet BLT or Bear, Lion, Tiger. No, seriously.
Baloo, Leo and Shere are from Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, and were discovered in an Atlanta basement during a drug raid when they were just small cubs. After being rehabilitated back to health, the three unlikely animal friends and are now inseparable and cute enough for me to roll around in the dirt with.
Anjana the chimp and Mitra and Shiva the tigers
I have a soft spot for primates. From Marcel on Friends, to the time one climbed on my head. They are friendly and funny. So when I came across Anjana, I just knew he had to be on this list. Anjana works at TIGERS (The Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species) where he helps care for cubs Mitra and Shiva with zoo keeper China York.
