How Canadians are stepping up to Make the Season Kind
CBC stations across the country campaign for kindness
Throughout the month of December, CBC stations across the country are inviting you to help Make the Season Kind. We are celebrating the kindness of others with special programming, storytelling, and a virtual coming together in support of local charities.
From dancing to donating, new friendships and longtime community centre connections, Canadians are spreading kindness in many unique ways. Here are just a few stories of inspiring acts of kindness from across the country.
Calgary: We asked you to share acts of kindness — and were flooded with hundreds of heart-warming tales
Edmonton: Gratitude for the food bank's role in their lives inspires Edmonton podcasters to give back
Winnipeg: Harvest Manitoba breakfast program to adapt format, continues to feed families in remote learning
Toronto: Giving back to his community became central to musician after the death of his wife
Montreal: At Tyndale St-Georges, I found where I belonged — and the love of my life
Moncton: Struck by loneliness of seniors in pandemic, N.B. student pairs them with peers
Lunenburg, N.S.: South Shore couple spreads Christmas cheer one waltz at a time
P.E.I.: Island children raise money, and hope, through custom Christmas ornaments
St. John's, N.L.: A robbery won't keep this restaurant owner from serving up kindness
