Newborn moose takes wobbly first steps in Algonquin Park, Ontario
This brand new baby moose explores his new home as the forest springs back to life.
This brand new baby moose is taking it all in after just being born in Ontario's Algonquin Provincial Park. Even though it's spring, a late snowfall makes the forest look more like a winter wonderland.
Soon after birth, he takes some wobbly first steps to reach mum and nurse, and then explores his new forest home. It doesn't take long for him to get his footing and become more confident on his legs. And it's a good thing too — he has to keep up with mum as she searches for food to replenish her energy after a long winter.
Luckily, the snow doesn't stay long and he's able to follow mum through the trees, discovering how spring brings the forest back to life. Of course, all that walking on new legs can be tiring, so a rest is a welcome break.
