TOO FAR? New Canadian airport facial recognition will also rate your looks out of 10
MISSISSAUGA, ON—A new technology has privacy and self-esteem experts worried after the Canadian Border Services Agency announced that the new facial recognition system that they will be rolling out to major Canadian airports this spring will, in addition to identifying you by several key facial features, also evaluate those features for overall attractiveness on a scale from 1 to 10.
"In order to provide the Canadian people with the best possible security," says John Darm, head of the CBSA, "we are experimenting with what we believe is a very beneficial technology that will keep people safe by letting us know who is using our major airports."
"And because we're only human," he continued, "we have also programmed the devices to evaluate the looks of any individual, from negative to positive. Don't get us wrong, we won't shy away from the positive."

According to further sources at the CBSA, there may be extra features implemented at certain airports, including a feature that would recognize when three individuals are walking together, and instantly separate them into the well-known "M/F/K" pattern, which is something that it will also do in any larger group that is a multiple of three. No direct action is expected to subsequently be taken by any device or individual with regards to carrying out any of the activities.
At press time, officials were contemplating adding another feature, which would covertly let individuals know whether there was spinach or other greens in their teeth, though it would be unable to distinguish between the various types.
