Spielberg forced to let little brother direct 'Ready Player Two'
HOLLYWOOD, CA—After early footage of Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One was released to the internet this week, Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that Spielberg, at the urging of his mom, is begrudgingly allowing his little brother Kevin to direct Ready Player Two, even though he doesn't really know how and isn't good at it.
"Ugh, fine, Kevin can direct too," said Steven Spielberg of the recently announced deal, "but I get the remote after dinner and he's not allowed to change it."

Based on Spielberg's upcoming film, which in turn is based on Ernest Cline's 2011 science fiction novel, Ready Player Two will also star Tye Sheridan as a teenager in a dystopian near-future who competes for control of a sprawling virtual world, except in this film he'll be wearing a blue shirt and have blonde hair, and his character will not have a name or any personal motivations.
Kevin Spielberg, age 8, has already released test footage showing off some of the fantastical environments of the virtual world OASIS, wherein the titular Player Two runs infuriatingly back and forth, as if trying to figure out how to run, before jumping randomly around in the air and then falling in the same hole repeatedly.
While Cline's novel takes its protagonist through a computer-generated reality full of pop culture-influenced locales, Ready Player Two is rumoured to mainly focus on the beginning areas, with little indication the story will progress beyond the first few screens.
"With Ready Player Two, we're excited to bring the Player Two experience to the screen in a cross-generational way," stated a press release from Warner Bros. "Just as Ready Player One brings decades of pop culture nostalgia to life for gamers and sci-fi fans, we feel that Ready Player Two will capture the imaginations of not only the younger brothers, sisters, and friends without consoles of yesterday, but also the not-really-interested-but-just-trying-to-hang-out significant others of today."
Ready Player Two is scheduled for release in March of 2018, a few minutes at a time, after every scene in Ready Player One.
