Nutrition information reveals 'single serving' of woman's favourite donut is 11 crumbs
OSHAWA, ON—Suzanne DeBourgeonnette has made a troubling discovery.
After visiting her favourite coffee shop's website to redeem a coupon code, she absentmindedly scrolled through the site for a few minutes before stumbling across the "Nutrition Information" section, where she learned, among other things, that the recommended serving of her favourite donut is a mere 11 crumbs (unglazed).

Before she could click away, she had also learned that the recommended portion size of her favourite latte was "a bit of a sip, like less than one quarter but obviously more than zero."
"I was very surprised to learn this," said DeBourgeonnette. "This reminds me of the time that my husband made the mistake of reading the nutrition information for our favourite pizza place, and the 'single serving' for their Meat Lovers' Special was listed as 'Just look at it, ever so quickly.'"
Reached for comment, a spokesperson for the popular coffee franchise said, "Obviously people can't just eat and eat to their heart's content. That's why the new posted calorie counts and the recommended serving sizes are so important."
"I understand the surprise that some can experience upon looking at what a technical single serving is. I remember the day I read the side of my mayonnaise. A single serving is 'A thin film — whatever's there when you lifted up the lid. Sorry.'"
"The side of the jar actually says sorry!"
At press time, a single serving of poutine is to hope that the poutine place is closed when you try to enter.
