Netflix adds new 'Like seriously though, you should maybe stop watching for a bit?' prompt
BRAMPTON, ON—We all love to binge-watch our shows. You know this. I know this. And apparently Netflix is pretty aware of it too.
That's why beginning this weekend, to follow the standard "Are you still watching?" message, Netflix will unveil the new "Like seriously though, you should maybe stop watching for a bit?" message, among others.

"We find people aren't really getting the point of what we're trying to say with the first reminder," said CEO Reed Hastings. "We realize it's a bit passive-aggressive, but we really did mean like, 'Get up. Do something else. Iron Fist isn't even good."
"But people clearly weren't getting it, so we're being more direct."
According to internal documents, if the new recommendation doesn't work, Netflix will be experimenting with further messages such as "I wonder what it's like outside. So should you"; "Hey. I'm just a TV show so I can't turn off your TV, but I would if I could"; and "Seriously. It's Iron Fist. What are you doing."
At press time, Netflix was unveiling a last-resort "nuclear option," that would read "turn this off and go for a walk with your friends or I will start to play Grown Ups 2 and you won't be able to pause it."
