Live from New York, it's Schitt's Creek star Dan Levy

It's time to break out the room temperature vodka, because you're not going to believe this.

After a whirlwind 2020 that saw Schitt's Creek star & creator Dan Levy win a historic number of Emmy Awards, as well as appearing in holiday favourite Happiest Season and being named Entertainer of the Year by Entertainment Weekly,  Levy will continue his hot streak with a hosting gig on Saturday Night Live.

Levy will be joined by musical guest Phoebe Bridgers on February 6th.

Earlier this week, the Critics Choice Awards announced their nominations, which included five for Schitt's Creek.

Last September Schitt's Creek earned nine Emmy Awards, an unprecedented win for a TV comedy, let alone a Canadian series.

Levy is the latest Canadian to host on SNL since Sandra Oh took the stage at 30 Rock in 2019. Hopefully Levy will be able to get a few tips on hosting from his Schitt's Creek co-star and SCTV alum Catherine O'Hara, who also hosted the show in 1991 & 1992.

SNL was famously created by Lorne Michaels, who was born in Toronto, Ontario, and cut his teeth with many projects with CBC before heading stateside, as well as had a hand in The Kids in the Hall as producer.

This season has also seen the addition of Celeste Yim to the writing staff of SNL, who has been named one of "30 Canadian Women in Comedy To Watch" and one of "Canada's Top 100 Notable Women."
