IT was filmed in Hamilton! Did you notice these references?

The remake of Stephen King's It has set social media abuzz and been breaking records at the box office, but did you know that it has a Canadian connection? See if you spotted these subtle Hamilton references in the film!

1. In the film, Pennywise the clown starts every morning by jogging the Bruce Trail, Canada's oldest and longest marked footpath.
    
2. If you paid close attention, you may have noticed that in the final, climactic scene, Pennywise stops chasing the children, puts down his knife, slips on a #68 Angelo Mosca Hamilton Tiger Cats jersey, looks directly into camera and says, "Oskie-wee wee, Oskie-wa-wa! Go Cats go, eh!"
    
3. Remember in the film when Pennywise performed a nine-minute progressive rock drum solo on his massive, 360-degree, 22-piece kit in the sewer? This was a nod to Rush member and Hamilton native Neil Peart.
    
4. As the children plot to kill Pennywise, they casually mention that they are each able to independently own their own stand-alone Victorian homes in town, unlike their friends in the larger city up the highway who have to grapple with inflated real estate prices, foreign buyers, and a condo boom.
    
5. When Pennywise attempts to lure Georgie into the sewer, he does so by trying to tempt the young boy with a fresh, delicious porchetta sandwich from Fortinos.
    
6. The scene where Pennywise disembowels a dog, and then writes "I AM DEATH" on the walls in its blood, was actually filmed in Canada's very first Tim Hortons! Neat piece of Hamilton history there.
