DRUMHELLER, AB—Marissa Weybourne, 26, says that she was "completely and utterly shocked" and "thrown like, so totally off-guard" last night when her boyfriend of two years proposed in the exact restaurant she'd repeatedly told him she'd want to be proposed to in, on the third anniversary of their first date, which is when she'd tearfully informed him would be the ideal day for them to get engaged, and offering her the exact engagement ring she picked out herself after months of extensive online research.

"I maaaaaaaybe knew something was up during appetizers because Scott was acting a bit weird," Weybourne smiles. "I told him to do that, though. I told him to act a bit weird during appetizers so that I would maybe know something was up."

Scott Hodges, 27, had arranged with the servers at Cantina 66 to bury the engagement ring box inside of a dark chocolate brownie, which is a "super cute little move" Weybourne once saw on the TLC show OMG You Guys A Man Proposed To Me! Weybourne then promptly emailed a video clip of the episode to Hodges with the subject line "how sweet is this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol 'sweet' get it?"

Hodges recalls that later that same night, Weybourne woke up him from a hard sleep at 4 am to ask him what he thought of the video, and whether he would ever consider hiding an engagement ring inside of a brownie when the time came to propose to "someone."

"I told her I hadn't really thought about it," Hodges says. "That, um, didn't go over well. We talked until 7 am. We eventually came to the conclusion that I had thought about it."

Hodges, who usually wears baggy jeans and Looney Tunes t-shirts, donned a suit jacket and striped tie last night in order to take Weybourne to dinner. "We were in a cafe once last year and some guy in a suit jacket and striped tie proposed to his girlfriend," Hodges sighs. "Marissa commented 126 times that night that it was 'refreshing' to see a guy treat the moment seriously. She said it showed respect and class."

"126 times," Hodges whispers, violently loosening his striped tie. "I counted."

Weybourne says she is "over the moon" about her upcoming wedding and can't wait to casually reveal to Hodges that she booked the venue after their third date.
