George Lucas asks usher at Star Wars: Rogue One screening if Jar Jar comes on soon
HOLLYWOOD, CA—George Lucas, famed creator of Star Wars, was spotted today asking the usher at his local screening of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story when Jar Jar Binks would be coming on-screen in the movie, since it had been going for about an hour and they hadn't even mentioned him yet?
"I just — I'm wondering. I didn't see him in that first film, The Force Awakens," said Lucas to his usher Trevor, "but I had to leave the theatre for two minutes to go the bathroom. I'm sure he was introduced and his storyline fully played out in that time, but I've held it the whole time here and… no Jar Jar."

"They haven't even gone to Naboo," added Lucas.
According to Trevor, who confirmed that his ability to attend to his usual duties had definitely been compromised by the incessant questioning, Lucas kept saying, "Oh there he is, I think!" any time a non-human creature came on-screen, and one time even when it was just actor Mads Mikkelsen. "A bunch of people would point out each time that it wasn't Jar Jar, and shush him. Personally I thought they should just let George have his moment. At least that would have stopped him talking so much."
At press time, Lucas wanted the usher to know that the movie really seemed like it would be winding down soon, but maybe there's something after the credits, though? Maybe Jar Jar after the credits?
