      Here are the bestselling Canadian fiction, nonfiction and children's books from Nov. 30-Dec. 7, 2024.

      Bestseller lists are compiled by Bookmanager using weekly sales stats from over 260 Canadian independent stores.

      Canadian fiction

      The Grey Wolf by Louise Penny is the #1 Canadian fiction book this week.

      In the 19th instalment of the Inspector Armand Gamache series, The Grey Wolf follows Chief Inspector Gamache and his allies as they pursue a deadly threat from Three Pines, Quebec, across the province and beyond. What starts as one murder evolves into a desperate mission to track a creature that has the potential to devastate cities and towns including Three Pines. Dealing with betrayal, suspicion and loyalty, Gamache must rely on his instincts to unravel the mystery before it's too late.

      Santa's First Christmas by Mac Barnett, illustrated by Sydney Smith is the #1 Canadian kids book this week.

      Santa's First Christmas is a picture book that brings the holiday spirit to Santa. Always preoccupied with making everyone else's Christmas wishes come true, Santa has never celebrated the holiday himself. As he returns to the North Pole on Christmas morning, his elves set up a perfect tree, presents and treats for him to experience the magic and joy of Christmas.
