      Here are the bestselling Canadian fiction, nonfiction and children's books from June 15-22, 2024.

      Vacationing one summer on Prince Edward Island, Lucy meets Felix in an electric, chemistry-filled night. Only one problem: Felix is her best friend Bridget's younger brother. On her annual return trips to P.E.I., Lucy vows to avoid Felix and his bed, that This Summer Will Be Different — easier said than done. When Bridget rushes home to P.E.I. in crisis a week before her wedding, Lucy can only follow and remind herself to protect her heart, but finally wonders if she really wants to do that after all.

      The War We Won Apart by Nahlah Ayed is the #1 Canadian nonfiction book this week.

      The War We Won Apart weaves together the lives of Sonia and Guy d'Artois starting with their early years: Sonia born in England, raised in France and Guy from Montreal. By 1944, both were working for Britain's Special Operations Executive and fell in love as they were undergoing training in Scotland. Days after they got married, the pair was separated, each embarking on dangerous missions as elite agents, then reuniting post-war, immigrating to Quebec and raising six children.

      The New Girl by Cassandra Calin is the #1 Canadian kids book this week.

      Inspired by artist Cassandra Calin's own immigration story, The New Girl is a middle-grade graphic novel about Lia and her family's move to Canada from Romania. Alongside all the complicated feelings Lia has about moving to somewhere completely different from home, when she arrives she experiences her first period. Now, as Lia navigates a new school with new classmates and new languages she is also faced with the daunting task of puberty.
