Michelle Obama's memoir Becoming was the bestselling print book in Canada in 2018, according to national sales figures collected by BookNet Canada.
The former U.S. first lady's memoir was released on Nov. 13, 2018, and was named an Oprah Book Club pick that same month.
In Becoming, Obama shares personal revelations such as what it was like to suffer a miscarriage and undergo IVF in order to become pregnant with her two daughters.
Obama will be touring with the book in 2019, and her schedule includes stops in the Canadian cities of Vancouver (March 21), Edmonton (March 22), Montreal (May 3) and Toronto (May 4).
The second bestselling print title in Canada last year was the 2016 nonfiction book The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by American author Mark Manson, which was also the bestselling print book of 2017.
Edmonton-born author Jordan B. Peterson ranks third on the 2018 print list with his nonfiction work 12 Rules for Life.
The remaining print bestsellers on BookNet Canada's top 10 list for the past year were The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn, Dog Man and Cat Kid by Dav Pilkey, The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris, Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell and Yum and Yummer by St. Thomas, Ont.-born cookbook author Greta Podleski.
