Mena Massoud, Canadian-Egyptian star of Aladdin, publishing vegan cookbook
Evolving Vegan will be available in September 2020
Canadian-Egyptian actor Mena Massoud has released a cookbook entitled Evolving Vegan.
Evolving Vegan, part-cookbook, part-travel guide, focuses on plant-based home cooked meals and explores what it means to eat vegan. It will be available in September 2020.
Massoud, who recently starred in Disney's 2019 live-action film Aladdin, chronicles his experiences and discoveries from his recent road trip across North America in Evolving Vegan.
The book will feature 80 international recipes, including dishes like tofu pad thai, fresh chickpea salad and raw sweet potato lasagna, as well as tips for lifelong vegans and people transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle.
Massoud will also share recipes by vegan chefs he met during his travels.

In 2018, the Cairo-born, Toronto-raised actor founded a vegan lifestyle company by the same name, which aims to introduce people to plant-based living and help them maintain that lifestyle.
He is also the founder of a non-for-profit called EDA Foundation, which assists artists of colour and provides them with resources, and the production company Press Play Productions.
In March 2020, Massoud will star in the film Run This Town alongside Ben Platt and Nina Dobrev.
