Children's Book Bank giving out 10K children's books at Toronto subway stations on Sept. 16
The Toronto charity will be at three local subway stations to give out one free book to each commuter.
The Children's Book Bank is planning to give out 10,000 books aimed at readers aged 12 and under at three Toronto subway stations on September 16.
The organization will be at Kennedy, Finch and Islington Stations where morning commuters can choose one free book from a range of titles that have been donated to the Book Bank.
"We are hoping to create a greater awareness of The Children's Book Bank's mission: growing a love of books and reading across Toronto," said the organization in an email to CBC Books.
The giveaway will take place from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Established in 2008, the Book Bank provides free books and literacy programs to Toronto neighbourhoods. They gave away 127,000 books in 2018.
