The Griffin Poetry Prize winner shares his best writing tip for those who are prepping their work for the 2018 CBC Poetry Prize.
Jordan Abel is one of the jurors for the 2018 CBC Poetry Prize, alongside Kai Cheng Thom and Ruth B. And he knows a thing or two about writing success — he won the 2017 Griffin Poetry Prize for his collection Injun, which explores the history and impact of the representation of Indigenous people in pulp western novels published between 1840 and 1950.
CBC Books asked Abel for his best writing tip for those who are prepping their work for the 2018 CBC Poetry Prize.
