Carol Rose Daniels recommends Angel Wing Splash Pattern by Richard Van Camp
June is Indigenous Book Club Month. CBC Books will publish a recommendation each day from an Indigenous writer for a book written by another Indigenous author.
Carol Rose Daniels recommends Angel Wing Splash Pattern by Richard Van Camp.
"I remember reading one of Richard's short stories while in flight from Yellowknife to Edmonton a few years ago. Torchy was the main character in one of the stories. Torchy is a messed up fellow with a heart of gold. I was so touched by the sadness of the character's life — and those others Torchy came in contact with — I started sobbing on the airplane. Beautifully written. The depth of Richard's writing is phenomenal."
