The panellists get some motivational messages
Defending books you care deeply about on a national stage is no small task. That's why the team at Canada Reads wanted to keep our contending panellists' spirits up by playing them some motivational messages from people important to them.
Humanitarian Samantha Nutt, a former Canada Reads panellist herself, encouraged close friend Chantal Kreviazuk to think of their children for inspiration. "Keep plowing through, because you're such a great defender of so many important social causes ... Keep going sister, 'cause we're rooting for ya."
Measha Brueggergosman got a little teary-eyed when she heard from her good pal Jeff Embleton, who expressed total confidence in her "prodigious persuasive powers."
YouTube star Lilly Singh, also known as IISuperwomanII, hyped up her artistic collaborator Humble The Poet, saying to him: "You're one of the smartest people I know, and you're good looking, and you got the best beard here… So get it done."
Finally, Jody Mitic got some brotherly love from younger sibling and Amazing Race partner Cory, who challenged Jody to "get pumped up and drop it like it's hot on these pylons."
Do you have any words of encouragement for our panellists?
