Hear a festive conversation with mystery writer Nita Prose on a live taping of Bookends with Mattea Roach
The Dec. 6 event in Toronto is part of CBC's annual food bank fundraiser Make the Season Kind
New York Times bestselling author Nita Prose will discuss her mystery novels at a live event with Mattea Roach on Dec. 6.
The conversation will take place at the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto from 12-1 p.m. ET as part of CBC Toronto's annual fundraiser for the Daily Bread Food Bank, Make the Season Kind.
Prose first captured readers with her debut novel The Maid, which has sold more than two million copies worldwide. It features Molly Gray, a hotel maid who struggles with social cues, whose ordinary life is upended when she finds a wealthy guest dead.
Caught up in a web of deception and suspicion, Molly unites with her friends to find out what really happened.
Prose continues Molly's crime-solving adventures in the novel The Mystery Guest and the new novella The Mistletoe Mystery, which includes a personal mystery with a holiday twist.
At the live event, Prose and Roach will discuss the Maid series, Prose's phenomenal success, finding inspiration in the holiday season and more.
The conversation will air on the Dec. 15 episode of Bookends with Mattea Roach, CBC's new author interview show. Guided by Roach's thoughtful curiosity and broad knowledge, Bookends dives deep into each writer's work and situates it in the broader context of history and the current world.
Bookends airs on CBC Radio One on Sundays at 1 p.m. (1:30 p.m. NT, 3 p.m. PT). It is also available on CBC Listen, wherever you get your podcasts and on the CBC Arts YouTube channel.
Tickets to hear Prose and Roach live will be released here on Oct. 31, 2024, at 8 a.m. ET.
Seating is first come, first seated. Admission is free, but donations to the food bank are appreciated, if possible. The Daily Bread Food Bank will be on-site accepting non-perishable food items, cash and electronic donations. Doors open at 11:45 a.m. ET.
