In the graphic memoir My Body in Pieces, Marie-Noëlle Hébert grapples with body positivity issues and an obsession with fitness and beauty begins to affect her mental and physical health. When a friend tries to get Hébert professional help, she embarks on a journey of wellness and well-being.

Hébert is an artist, illustrator and author based in Montreal. Her work includes illustrations for the children's book Le voyage de Kalak. The French edition of My Body in Pieces, her first graphic novel, was awarded the Prix des libraires du Québec in 2020.

The Project is about a young journalist named Lo Denham. After she loses her parents to a car accident, Lo is left alone to grieve. Her sister Bea joins an elusive community called The Unity Project and Lo discovers that she might be in danger. Lo decides to enter the community to find her sister and save her before it's too late.

The Project is for ages 13 and up.

Courtney Summers is a YA novelist from Ontario. She made her debut in 2008 with Cracked Up to Be. Her other books include Fall for Anything, Some Girls Are and Sadie, which won the John Spray Mystery Award and an Edgar Allan Poe Award in 2019.

The Forest of Stolen Girls by June Hur

The Forest of Stolen Girls is a YA novel by June Hur. (Feiwel & Friends)

Set in 1426 Korea, The Forest of Stolen Girls is a YA novel about a young woman named Hwani who seeks to know the truth about a past crime that affected her family. The Power of Style by Christian Allaire

Gilded Serpent by Danielle L. Jensen

Gilded Serpent is a YA novel by Danielle L. Jensen. (Tor Teen)

Gilded Serpent is a YA novel about an ongoing battle between good and evil set in the world of the Dark Shores series of YA fantasy books. Gilded Serpent features magic, gods and war as the characters Marcus, Teriana, Killian, and Lydia offer their perspective on truth and ultimate victory.

Danielle L. Jensen is an author from Calgary. She is the author of the Dark Shores fantasy series. The other books in the series are Dark Shores and Dark Skies.

My Indian by Chief Mi'sel Joe and Sheila O'Neill

My Indian tells the story of Sylvester Joe, a Mi'kmaq guide who helped  William Epps Cormack across Newfoundland in search of the last remaining Beothuk camps on the island in 1822. The historical fiction novel tells the story from an Indigenous perspective with the goal of reclaiming Sylvester Joe's identity and legacy.

Mi'sel Joe is the author of Muinji'j Becomes a Man and An Aboriginal Chief's Journey. Mi'sel Joe is considered the spiritual chief of the Mi'kmaq of Newfoundland and Labrador and has been the district traditional chief of Miawpukek First Nation since 1983, appointed by the late Grand Chief Donald Marshall. 

Sheila O'Neill is an author, drum carrier and member of Qalipu Mi'kmaq First Nation. She is a founding member and past president of the Newfoundland Aboriginal Women's Network.

Green Glass Ghosts is a YA novel about gender identity and seeking a better life. When a queer young person leaves behind a troubled home situation, they arrive in downtown Vancouver with a dream of becoming a successful musician. But the protagonist must navigate jealousy, abuse and trauma to reach their desired outcome in life — playing live music in front of a crowd.

Green Glass Ghosts is for ages 14 and up.

Rae Spoon is a non-binary musician, producer and author from Calgary, who currently lives in Victoria. Their other books include First Spring Grass Fire and Gender Failure, which was co-written with Ivan Coyote. 

Gem Hall is an interdisciplinary artist currently based on Coast Salish lands.

Hurricane Summer by Asha Bromfield

The YA novel Hurricane Summer is a coming-of-age story about a teen named Tilla. Her relationship with her Jamaican-born father is straining due to his frequent absences from her life. Tilla decides to spend the summer in Jamaica in order to reconnect with her father and understand herself and the island he calls home.

Asha Bromfield is a Black Canadian actress, singer and author best known for her role as Melody Valentine, drummer of Josie and the Pussycats in the television show Riverdale.

Aetherbound by E.K. Johnston

Aetherbound is a YA novel by E.K. Johnston. (Dutton Books)

Aetherbound is a story of space survival. While on a long-haul space cruiser, Pendt Harland discovers that she is destined for something more when it is revealed that her DNA has mutated. During a layover at a space station, Pendt manages to escape and hatches a plan to take over the facility and realize her true destiny.

Aetherbound is for ages 14 and up.

E.K. Johnston is a YA novelist and forensic archaeologist from Statford, Ont. She is the author of The Story of Owen, A Thousand Nights, Spindle and Exit, Pursued by a Bear, which won the Amy Mathers Teen Book Award in 2017.

It's a race against time as Nate must escape and make it back home to Ontario.

When a teen named Viv gets involved in the program — which involves being a "simulated" patient for med school students to practice on — she soon ends up in a coma. No one seems to know what really happened, and the other kids just don't know who to trust to get the real answer.
