Let's be fair — classifying Clairmont The Second only as a rapper would be an understatement. Since the start of his career in 2013, Clairmont has released a new project every year, and on each he wears multiple hats as the writer, producer, instrumentalist, singer, audio engineer and even video director.

"Having the control of doing everything means I get things sounding exactly the way I want," he says. "I don't have to answer to anybody."

You can watch that control in action as Clairmont gives CBC Arts intimate access to an entire day in his life by strapping on a GoPro. From waking up to recording to performing a show, walk in the shoes of Clairmont The Second. And you can learn more about him and his music here

Through The Eyes is a series of short films that provide a first person perspective on what it's like to live a day in the life of an artist. From dancers to tattooists, these films give an immersive and intimate peak into how one lives, breathes and expresses art.
