Duration 1:30
In this extended clip from The Filmmakers, David Suzuki explains how Manufactured Landscapes shows "the heart of the problem we face today."

By following the lens of Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky, Jennifer Baichwal's documentary Manufactured Landscapes reveals some devastating truths about humanity's footprint on our planet. Baichwal records Burtynsky as he photographs astonishing manmade landscapes across the world — from circuit factories to colossal construction sites to e-waste landfills.

For David Suzuki — the award-winning scientist, environmentalist and host of The Nature of Things — the film had a huge impact. "It really attacks what I think is the heart of the problem we face today," says Suzuki.
