DJ Karaba on her career shift from dancer to Afro-house producer

DJ Karaba discusses her career pivot from a trained dancer to a DJ.

The Montreal-based DJ’s Mad Mess is inspired by Congolese rhythms and Afrobeats

DJ Karaba spent most of her life as a trained dancer, where she performed alongside Drake, Camilla Cabello and Selena Gomez. In 2016, the French Congolese performer pivoted from her dance career and pursued music. She talks to Q's Tom Power about her beginnings as an artist and how her parent's music taste influenced her sound.The DJ and producer's song Mad Mess, has been nominated for an underground dance single at the 2024 Juno Awards
