Phedre's April Aliermo is visiting an all-girl rock camp in Dawson City, Yukon.

Phèdre's April Aliermo travels a lot. She's taken you to Seoul to see what it's like to be on tour with her band. She's shown you the all-ages punk scene that's exploding in Toronto. And now, she's visiting a kickass rock camp that's just for girls in Dawson City, Yukon.

Over the course of a week, April watches a group of young women (the camp is for girls aged 8-18) learn about their identity, culture and history, along with how to grow the confidence to own the stage and sing the songs they've just written themselves.

Yukon Girls Rock Camp happens in the summer, so stay tuned for next year's info!

CBC Arts correspondent April Aliermo is a musician who plays with bands Phèdre, Hooded Fang and tonkapuma, and you can follow her on Instagram
