Strung overhead San Diego International Airport, Jim Campbell's installation "The Journey" is made up of over 40,000 suspended LED glass spheres. Through the lights, figures swim down the halls of the airport as travellers pass beneath them.
Campbell's work often features large low-resolution displays, creating a canvas he says causes you to look at in a different way, just seeing simple shapes and motion. "You look at it almost in a more primal way," he says — and we couldn't agree more.
