It's North America's biggest celebration of the moving image — whether that means experimental film, live performance, video art or installation — and April 14-23 the Images Festival returns to Toronto for its 29th year.

More than 80 artists from around the world will share their innovative perspectives at this year's festival, exploring discussions of culture and race, gender and sexuality. And whether they hail from Winnipeg (Sarah Anne Johnson) or Beirut (Roy Dib), CBC Arts asked this year's guests to share how their hometowns influence their art.
